Hello, my name is Tom Wasaff and I own and operate TWO PISCES, LLC. I would describe myself as a long time water sports enthusiast, not so much an expert but someone who really enjoys having fun in the water. I grew up in Northern Virginia (Fairfax County) taking family trips to the Outer Banks, NC and Bethany Beach, DE where I loved to body surf and Boogie board. In 1988, I headed to New Hampshire for college where I developed an interest in marine science. Thanks to my parents, I was able to spend a semester and summer taking classes in marine science at two different institutions. During this time, I purchased my first surfboard (1970's Gordon and Smith single fin), which I packed up and took to Georgia for my first job post graduation. It was a dream job for a recent graduate interested in marine science. The location was something out of a Nicholas Sparks book - Sapelo Island, one of Georgia's most unique barrier islands. Unfortunately, the Georgia coastline is not conducive for decent surf and I would have to wait a few years before honing my surfing skills. My next job took me to the Florida Keys where I picked up windsurfing. After several years of super fun jobs in super cool locations, I decided to head back to the uncomfortable life of academia. Within days of starting my graduate program, I was going to Virginia Beach for dawn patrol surf sessions before heading to campus. Over the weekends, it was camping and surfing in the Outer Banks, NC. This was a fever that lasted five years until moving back to Northern Virginia in 2000. Since I've been back, I've dabbled in wakeboarding and kayaking. I am hoping that TWO PISCES can recreate the fun and camaraderie I previously experienced on the water for other individuals and families to enjoy.
